Species such as the Atlantic Cod and the Atlantic Puffin are competing with the fisheries for a main food source in their diet. With a sweet flavor and creamy texture, mussels can be steamed with lemon and parsley, or stuffed and baked to make a classic antipasti. The food favored by the Puffin varies a bit regionally, but everywhere their diet is made up almost entirely of one or two species. The European Hake is a night predator.
